This DataPlugin supports reading / importing of Universal File Format (UFF)58 ASCII and binary files.

The UFF58 (Universal File Format) is a de facto standard in the experimental dynamics (vibration and acoustic) community, particularly in the area of modal analysis. Most NVH applications, including I-Deas® from MTS, produce UFF files.

Both variants of UFF, ASCII and binary hybrid (UFF58b), as well as big Endian and little Endian files are supported.

National Instruments sound and vibration software provides a complete software solution for all Audio, Noise and Vibration, and Machine Condition Monitoring applications. Based on an open analysis capability and a flexible measurement library, the NI Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite and NI Sound and Vibration Toolkit present a unique software-based measurement approach to creating customized applications.

need the data plugin to be able to handle non-essential records that exceeds 80-characters long  - Aug 26, 2015

we have a customer who converted data from LMS Test.Lab to unv file, some description fields are longer than 80 characters and the UFF dataplugin and DIAdem failed to open the file. At the same time a number of other applications (Matlab, Artemis, ME Scope, Pulse, etc) opened the file without any problems. This dataplugin needs to handle these kind of exceptions, trim the extra charters or warn the user but NOT fail to open the file altogether.
