The LabVIEW Real-Time 7.1.1 Maintenance Release introduced an INI File token which can improved TCP performance. This program will set this INI token for you which specifies the desired TCP socket buffer size on a target using LabVIEW Real-Time 7.1.1. LabVIEW Real-Time 7.1.1 must be installed on the target in order to take advantage of this improvement.
This VI edits the ni-rt.ini file to increase TCP communication performance on certain real-time targets based on the LabVIEW Real-Time 7.1.1 maintenance release. It adds or edits the SendBufferSize token under the [LVRT] section and sets it equal to the value specified on the front panel.
The default value is: SendBufferSize=65535
1. Target the controller and open the attached VI
2. Enter desired socket buffer size on front panel
3. Run VI
4. Reboot the controller
Note: The controller must also be configured for half duplex mode under Advanced Ethernet Settings in MAX
