This example displays how to use 488.2 function calls to find listeners on the bus, then convert those results to an acceptable VISA format. Since VISA calls (such as VISA Write) require the VISA Resource Name handle, it is sometimes not clear how to combine 488.2 function calls with VISA calls. The FindLstn VI is used to find all listeners on the bus. FindLstn detects the presence of devices at particular addresses. When you detect the devices, you can then interrogate them to determine their identity. The results of the FindLstn function are then converted into an acceptable VISA Resource Name format so that the user may incorporate both 488.2 direct calls and VISA calls in LabVIEW. After you have this handle, you may call subsequent VISA reads and writes.
