Overview

The Electrical Principles/Fundamentals series present the basic theories and concepts taught at entry level electronics courses at both 2 year and 4 year institutions. This series of content provides examples to professors to enable them to easily teach concepts to students, who can develop a solid underlying knowledge of electronics using the NI solution. This series focuses on some of the basic theory as well as providing the NI Multisim circuits to enable practical implementation end experimentation as homework for students.

1. Chapter 1: Ohm's Law, Power Law, and RC circuits 

        

Chapter 1 explores two basic rules of circuit analysis then applies them to a simple RC circuit. Then, simulate the circuit using NI Multisim to verify the results.

2. Chapter 2: Resistors

Chapter 2 explores resistors and the calculation of equivalent resistance for different series and/or parallel combinations. An example circuit with both combinations is then studied and NI Multisim is utilized to simulate the circuit.

3. Chapter 3: Capacitors

Chapter 3 explores capacitors and the calculation of equivalent capacitance for different series and/or parallel combinations. An example circuit with both combinations is then studied and NI Multisim is utilized to simulate the circuit.

4. Chapter 4: Inductors

Chapter 4 explores inductors and the calculation of equivalent inductance for different series and/or parallel combinations. An example circuit with both combinations is then studied and NI Multisim is utilized to simulate the circuit.

5. Chapter 5: Kirchhoff's Current and Voltage Laws

Chapter 5 studies two of the basic rules of circuit analysis; Kirchhoff's Current and Voltage Laws. Those rules are then applied to an example circuit and NI Multisim is utilized to simulate the circuit and verify the results.

6. Chapter 6: Superposition

Chapter 6 examines one of the basic rules of circuit analysis; Superposition Theorem. This rule is then applied to an example circuit and NI Multisim is utilized to simulate the circuit and verify the results.

7. Chapter 7: AC Circuits

Chapter 7 studies AC circuits and the different relationships current and voltage have with respect to different passive circuit elements. An example circuit is then examined and analyzed.

8. Chapter 8: Transformers

Chapter 8 explores the transformer and the relationships between the input and output currents and voltages. Then, an example circuit is studied and NI Multisim is utilized to simulate the circuit and verify the results
