Last Modified: October 26, 2017

Creates a new AVI file or rewrites an old AVI file.

connector_pane_image
datatype_icon

has data?

Input specifying whether to write additional data with your images.

datatype_icon

AVI file path

Complete AVI file path name, including drive, directory, and filename.

This path can be supplied by either the user or the File Dialog node. The file extension must be .avi.

datatype_icon

frames per second

Number of frames per second at which to play the AVI.

Indicates the desired playback rate of the AVI you create. The AVI may play at a slower rate depending on the performance of the system on which it plays.

datatype_icon

codec name

Name of the compression filter used to write the frames to the AVI file.

Use the Get AVI Filter Names (DirectShow) node to get the names of the valid compression filters currently installed on your computer.

datatype_icon

quality

Relative quality, from 0 to 1000, to use with the codec.

Not all codecs support using different qualities. This parameter is only available for native Windows codes and not for codecs labelled (NI Vision).

datatype_icon

error in

Error conditions that occur before this node runs.

The node responds to this input according to standard error behavior.

Standard Error Behavior

Many nodes provide an error in input and an error out output so that the node can respond to and communicate errors that occur while code is running. The value of error in specifies whether an error occurred before the node runs. Most nodes respond to values of error in in a standard, predictable way.

error in does not contain an error error in contains an error
If no error occurred before the node runs, the node begins execution normally.

If no error occurs while the node runs, it returns no error. If an error does occur while the node runs, it returns that error information as error out.

If an error occurred before the node runs, the node does not execute. Instead, it returns the error in value as error out.

Default: No error

datatype_icon

max data size

Maximum number of bytes you can add per frame to an AVI file.

Default: 10,000

datatype_icon

AVI session

Reference to the AVI file created.

datatype_icon

error out

Error information.

The node produces this output according to standard error behavior.

Where This Node Can Run:

Desktop OS: Windows

FPGA: Not supported

Web Server: Not supported in VIs that run in a web application
