Connecting to SystemLink Cloud from LabVIEW

    Connect your application to SystemLink Cloud to transfer data or send messages.

    Before you can connect your application to SystemLink Cloud, you need to create and save an API key.
    1. Launch LabVIEW.
    2. Create an application.
      1. Select Create Project.
      2. Select Blank VI.
    3. Go to the block diagram.
    4. Add Open Configuration to the diagram to configure it.
      1. From the palette, select Data Communication»SystemLink»Configuration.

        If you use LabVIEW 2017 or earlier, select Data Communication»Skyline»Configuration to find Open Configuration.

      2. Select Open Configuration and add it to the block diagram.
      3. From the Polymorphic VI Selector, choose API Key as the configuration. The VI now appears as Open Configuration (API Key).
    5. Create a string constant for the server url input.
      1. Right-click the diagram and select String»String Constant to add a string constant to the diagram.
      2. Wire the string constant to the server url.
    6. Enter https://api.systemlinkcloud.com/ as the server url.
    7. Create a string constant for the api key input.
      1. Right-click the diagram and select String»String Constant to add a string constant to the diagram.
      2. Write the string constant to the api key.
    8. Specify the API key you created and saved earlier as the api key.
      The SystemLink Cloud server authenticates your application on your local machine with an API key you provide.

      Tip  

      Create a new API key if you forgot to copy or save the API key when you created it.

    After you execute the code, you can securely exchange data over HTTPS.
