Signal Reference Description

AI GND

Analog Input Ground—These terminals are the reference point for single-ended AI measurements in RSE mode and the bias current return point for DIFF measurements. All ground references—AI GND, AO GND, and D GND—are connected on the device.

AI <0..15>

Varies

Analog Input Channels For single-ended measurements, each signal is an analog input voltage channel. In RSE mode, AI GND is the reference for these signals. In NRSE mode, the reference for each AI signal is an AI SENSE.

For differential measurements, AI 0 and AI 8 are the positive and negative inputs of differential analog input channel 0. Similarly, the following signal pairs also form differential input channels: AI <1,9>, AI <2,10>, and so on.

AI SENSE

Analog Input Sense—In NRSE mode, the reference for each AI <0..15> signal is AI SENSE.

AO <0,1>

AO GND

Analog Output Channels—These terminals supply voltage output.

AO GND

Analog Output Ground—AO GND is the reference for AO. All ground references—AI GND, AO GND, and D GND—are connected on the device.

NC

No connect—Do not connect signals to this terminal.

D GND

Digital GroundD GND supplies the reference for digital channels, PFI, and +5 V. All ground references—AI GND, AO GND, and D GND—are connected on the device.

P0.<0..7>

Port 0 Digital I/O ChannelsYou can configure each signal individually as an input or output. P0.6 and P0.7 can also control the up/down signal of Counters 0 and 1, respectively.

P1.<0..7>

Port 1 Digital I/O Channels—Port 1 bi-directional digital data lines for the 82C55A programmable peripheral interface. MSB: P1.7, LSB: P1.0.

P2.<0..7>

AI HOLD COMP

AI Hold Complete Event Signal——When enabled, this signal pulses once for each A/D conversion in sample mode. The low-to-high edge indicates when the input signal can be removed from the input or switched to another signal.

EXT STROBE

External Strobe Signal—Do not connect signals to this terminal.

PFI 0/AI START TRIG

Programmable Function Interface or AI Start Trigger SignalAs an input, this terminal is a PFI. As an output, this pin is the ai/StartTrigger signal. In applications with pre-trigger samples, a low-to-high transition indicates the initiation of the pre-trigger samples.

PFI 1/AI REF TRIG

Programmable Function Interface or AI Reference Trigger SignalAs an input, this terminal is a PFI. As an output, this terminal emits the AI Reference Trigger signal. In applications with pre-trigger samples, a low-to-high transition indicates the initiation of the pre-trigger samples. AI Reference Trigger is not used in applications with post-trigger samples.

PFI 2/AI CONV CLK

Programmable Function Interface or AI Convert Clock SignalAs an input, this terminal is a PFI. As an output, this terminal is the AI Convert Clock signal. A high-to-low edge on AI CONV indicates that an A/D conversion is occurring.

PFI 3/CTR 1 SOURCE

Programmable Function Interface or Counter 1 Source SignalAs an input, this terminal is a PFI. As an output, this terminal emits the selected Ctr1Source signal. This signal reflects the actual source signal connected to Counter 1.

PFI 4/CTR 1 GATE

Programmable Function Interface or Counter 1 Gate SignalAs an input, this terminal is a PFI. As an output, this terminal emits the selected Ctr1Gate signal. This signal reflects the actual gate signal connected to Counter 1.

PFI 5/AO SAMP CLK*

Programmable Function Interface or AO Sample Clock SignalAs an input, this terminal is a PFI. As an output, this terminal emits the AO Sample Clock signal. A high-to-low transition of this signal indicates that the AO primary group is being updated.

PFI 6/AO START TRIG

Programmable Function Interface or AO Start Trigger SignalAs an input, this terminal is a PFI. As an output, this terminal emits the AO Start Trigger signal. In timed AO sequences, a low-to-high transition indicates the initiation of the waveform generation.

PFI 7/AI SAMP CLK*

Programmable Function Interface or AI Sample Clock SignalAs an input, this terminal is a PFI. As an output, this terminal emits the AI Sample Clock signal. This terminal pulses once at the start of each AI sample in the interval sample. A high-to-low transition of this signal indicates the initiation of the waveform generation.

PFI 8/CTR 0 SOURCE

Programmable Function Interface or Counter 0 Source SignalAs an input, this terminal is a PFI. As an output, this terminal emits the Ctr0Source signal. This signal reflects the actual source signal connected to Counter 0.

PFI 9/CTR 0 GATE

Programmable Function Interface or Counter 0 Gate SignalAs an input, this terminal is a PFI. As an output, this terminal emits the Ctr0Gate signal. This signal reflects the actual gate signal connected to Counter 0.

CTR 1 OUT

Counter 1 Output Signal—As an input, this terminal can be used to route signals directly to the RTSI bus. As an output, this terminal emits the Ctr1InternalOutput signal.

CTR 0 OUT

Counter 0 Output Signal—As an input, this terminal can be used to route signals directly to the RTSI bus. As an output, this terminal emits the Ctr0InternalOutput signal.

FREQ OUT

Frequency Output Signal—This output is from the frequency generator.
