    session in

    The resource to be used.

    datatype_icon

    error in

Error conditions that occur before this node runs.

The node responds to this input according to standard error behavior.

    Standard Error Behavior

Many nodes provide an error in input and an error out output so that the node can respond to and communicate errors that occur while code is running. The value of error in specifies whether an error occurred before the node runs. Most nodes respond to values of error in in a standard, predictable way.

error in does not contain an error error in contains an error
If no error occurred before the node runs, the node begins execution normally.

If no error occurs while the node runs, it returns no error. If an error does occur while the node runs, it returns that error information as error out.

If an error occurred before the node runs, the node does not execute. Instead, it returns the error in value as error out.

    Default: No error

    mode

Control that specifies whether to issue a command and/or retrieve a response.

    Name Value Description
Send 16-Bit Command 512 Issues the 16-bit command specified in command.
Send 16-bit Query; Get 16-bit Response 514 Issues a 16-bit query specified in command and returns a 16-bit response.
Get 16-bit Response from Previous Query 2 Returns a 16-bit response to a query you previously called.
Send 32-bit Command 1024 Issues the 32-bit command specified in command.
Send 32-bit Query; Get 16-bit Response 1026 Issues a 32-bit query specified in command and returns a 16-bit response.
Send 32-bit Query; Get 32-bit Response 1028 Issues a 32-bit query specified in command and returns a 32-bit response.
Get 32-bit Response from Previous Query 4 Returns a 32-bit response to a query you previously called.

    Ignoring Command or Response Parameters

The mode you specify can cause all or part of the command or response parameters to be ignored. The possible results of specifying a particular mode are the following:

    • If mode specifies sending a 16-bit command, the upper half of command is ignored.
    • If mode specifies retrieving a response only, command is ignored.
    • If mode specifies sending a command only, response is ignored.
    • If mode specifies to retrieve a 16-bit value, the upper half of response is set to 0.

    Default: Send 16-bit Command

    datatype_icon

    command

    The miscellaneous command to send.

    Default: 0

    datatype_icon

    session out

The resource to which a VISA session is opened.

This output also includes the class for the session, which matches that of session in.

    datatype_icon

    error out

    Error information.

The node produces this output according to standard error behavior.

The response retrieved from the device.
