Code Dependency Guidelines

Version:
Last Modified: August 9, 2019

Understand the code dependency guidelines to fix missing dependency errors or perform code refactoring.

A loose VI, which exists outside of an Application or Library document, can call only other loose VIs or VIs in a Library document.

A VI in an Application or Library document can call only VIs within the same component or in a dependency library.

A VI can call only VIs that exist on the same SystemDesigner target. If you move an application to another target, you must move its dependency libraries to the same target as the application to prevent dependency errors.
