# Discrete Random (Negative Binomial) (G Dataflow)

Version:

Generates random values from a negative binomial-distributed variate.

A negative binomial-distributed variate represents the number of failures before the xth success in a sequence of independent Bernoulli trials.

## reset

A Boolean that controls the reseeding of the random value generator after the first execution of the node. By default, this node maintains the initial internal seed state.

 True Accepts a new seed and begins generating random values based on the seed. If the seed is less than or equal to 0, the node ignores the reset value of True and resumes generating random values as a continuation of the previous sequence. False Resumes generating random values as a continuation of the previous sequence. The node ignores new seed inputs.

Default: False

## x

Number of successes.

This input must be in the interval [0, inf].

Default: 5

## p

Probability of success.

p must be in the interval [0, 1].

Default: 0.5

## seed

Value that causes reseeding of the random value generator when the value is greater than 0.

Default: -1

## error in

Error conditions that occur before this node runs.

The node responds to this input according to standard error behavior.

The value of error in specifies whether an error occurred before the node runs. Most nodes respond to values of error in in a standard, predictable way.
