Power of X (G Dataflow)

Version:
    Last Modified: March 15, 2017

Computes the value of a number (x) raised to a specified power (y).

If x is not complex, it must be greater than zero unless y is an integer value. Otherwise, the result is not a number (NaN). If y is 0, x^y is 1 for all values of x, including 0.

    y

    An input to this operation.

This input supports scalar numbers, arrays or clusters of numbers, and arrays of clusters of numbers.

    Data Type Changes on FPGA

When you add this node to a document targeted to an FPGA, this input has a default data type that uses fewer hardware resources at compile time.

    x^y

Result of x to the power of y.

When x and y are complex, the following equation defines x^y:
    x y = exp ( y * ln ( x ) )
