ylimit

Version:

Sets or returns the range of the y-scale.

Note

You can only use the ylimit function in the MathScript Console.

Syntax

ylimit ('auto')
ylimit ('manual')
ylimit(miny, maxy)
ylimit
a = ylimit
b = ylimit('mode')
Legacy name: ylim

'auto'

Directs MathScript to fit the y-scale automatically to the plot.

'manual'

Directs MathScript not to fit the y-scale automatically to the plot.

miny

Minimum y-value. miny is a real scalar.

maxy

Maximum y-value. maxy is a real scalar.

'mode'

Mode that MathScript uses to determine the range of the scale.

a

Array of two elements which include minimum and maximum values of the scale.

b

Mode that MathScript uses to determine the range of the scale. b is a string that can be either 'auto' or 'manual'.

Syntax Variants

• ylimit ('auto') directs MathScript to fit the y-scale automatically to the plot.
• ylimit ('manual') directs MathScript not to fit the y-scale automatically to the plot.
• ylimit ('mode') returns the mode MathScript uses to determine the range of the y-scale.
• ylimit returns the minimum and maximum values of the y-scale.
• ylimit(miny, maxy) sets the minimum and maximum values of the y-scale.
X = 0:1:10;
plot(X)
ylimit([2, 8])
a = ylimit('mode')
