# polar

Version:

Generates a polar coordinates plot.

Note

You can only use the polar function in the MathScript Console.

## Syntax

polar(y)
polar(y, attributes)
polar(x, y)
polar(x, y, attributes)

## x

Vector of the angle (measured in radians) between the positive x-axis and a straight line from the plot point to the center of the polar plot.

## y

Vector of the distance from the plot point to the center of the polar plot.

## attributes

Plot attributes. Order the plot attributes by color, point style, and line style. For example, 'bo-' specifies that the plot is blue, marks points with circles, and uses solid lines. attributes is a string that accepts a combination of the following values:

Uses dashed and dotted lines.

Uses dashed lines.

## Syntax Variants

• polar(y) plots the columns of y against the indexes of the columns.
• polar(y, attributes) plots y against the indexes of the columns using the specified attributes.
• If x and y are real vectors, polar(x, y) plots y against x.
• polar(x, y, attributes) plots y against x using the specified attributes.
