Configuring an Optimized FPGA VI for Use in Other Document Types

Last Modified: January 12, 2018

When building a complete application, you create top-level VIs, Clock-Driven Logic documents, and Multirate diagrams in addition to Optimized FPGA VIs. Before you can call an Optimized FPGA VI from other document types, you must verify certain settings are correct.
  1. In SystemDesigner, select the library that includes the VI and verify that the Optimized FPGA Library checkbox on the Item tab has a checkmark.
  2. Verify that the connector pane includes all controls and indicators.
    1. Open the Optimized FPGA VI.
    2. Select a control or indicator from either the diagram or panel.
    3. On the Item tab, enable On Connector Pane.
    4. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for any other controls or indicators in your VI. You can also click Edit Icon to configure the specific location of each control and indicator on the icon.
