Version:
    Last Modified: January 12, 2018

Configures the attributes of an item in the menu.

    connector_pane_image
    datatype_icon

    item tag

Tag of the item whose attributes you want to set.

    datatype_icon

    menu reference

Reference to a menu bar in a VI.

    datatype_icon

    error in

Error conditions that occur before this node runs.

The node responds to this input according to standard error behavior.

    Standard Error Behavior

Many nodes provide an error in input and an error out output so that the node can respond to and communicate errors that occur while code is running. The value of error in specifies whether an error occurred before the node runs. Most nodes respond to values of error in in a standard, predictable way.

error in does not contain an error error in contains an error
If no error occurred before the node runs, the node begins execution normally.

If no error occurs while the node runs, it returns no error. If an error does occur while the node runs, it returns that error information as error out.

If an error occurred before the node runs, the node does not execute. Instead, it returns the error in value as error out.

    Default: No error

    datatype_icon

    item name

    Name of the item.

Default: Empty string — Causes this node to leave the name of the item unchanged.

    datatype_icon

    enabled?

A Boolean that determines whether to enable the item in the menu.

True Enable the item in the menu.
False Disable and gray out the item in the menu.

    Default: False

    datatype_icon

    checked?

A Boolean that determines whether the item has a checkmark next to it.

True The item has a checkmark next to it.
False The item does not have a checkmark next to it.

    Default: False

    datatype_icon

    shortcut

Keyboard equivalent of selecting the item with a mouse.

    datatype_icon

    include shift key

A Boolean that determines whether to include the <Shift> key in the shortcut.

True Includes the <Shift> key in the shortcut.
False Does not include the <Shift> key in the shortcut.

    Default: False

    datatype_icon

    include control key

A Boolean that determines whether to include the <Ctrl> key in the shortcut.

True Includes the <Ctrl> key in the shortcut.
False Does not include the <Ctrl> key in the shortcut. Set include control key to False only if you specify a function key, such as <F1>, <F2>, and so on, as the shortcut key.

    Default: False

    datatype_icon

    shortcut key

    Key associated with the shortcut.

Default: Empty string — Causes this node to leave the shortcut of the menu item unchanged.

    datatype_icon

    menu reference out

Reference to the menu bar in a VI.

    datatype_icon

    error out

    Error information.

The node produces this output according to standard error behavior.

    Desktop OS: Windows

    FPGA: Not supported

Web Server: Not supported in VIs that run in a web application
