UDP Read (UDP Read Binary (U32 Address)) (G Dataflow)

Last Modified: March 20, 2017

Reads a binary datagram from a UDP socket.

This node returns data when it receives any bytes, and waits the full timeout ms only if it receives no bytes.

Programming Patterns
connector_pane_image
datatype_icon

connection ID

A network connection refnum that uniquely identifies the UDP socket.

datatype_icon

max size

The maximum number of bytes to read. If you wire a value other than 548 to this input, Windows might return an error because the node cannot read fewer bytes than are in a packet.

Default: 548

datatype_icon

timeout ms

Time, in milliseconds, that the node waits to complete before reporting a timeout error. A value of -1 indicates to wait indefinitely.

Default: 25,000 ms

datatype_icon

error in

Error conditions that occur before this node runs. The node responds to this input according to standard error behavior.

Default: No error

datatype_icon

connection ID out

Same value as connection ID.

datatype_icon

data out

The data read from the UDP datagram.

datatype_icon

error out

Error information. The node produces this output according to standard error behavior.

datatype_icon

port

The port of the UDP socket that sent the datagram.

datatype_icon

address

The address of the computer where a datagram originates.

Where This Node Can Run:

Desktop OS: Windows

FPGA: Not supported
