address

The address with which you want to establish a connection. This address can be in IP dot notation or it can be a hostname. If you do not specify an address, LabVIEW establishes a connection to the local computer.

datatype_icon

remote port or service name

The port or name of the service to which you want to establish a connection. If you specify a service name, LabVIEW queries the NI Service Locator for the port number that the server registered. If you wire a value of 0, LabVIEW returns an error. remote port or service name can accept a numeric or a string input.

datatype_icon

timeout ms

Time, in milliseconds, that the node waits to complete before returning a timeout error. A value of -1 indicates to wait indefinitely.

Default: 60,000 ms (1 minute)

datatype_icon

error in

Error conditions that occur before this node runs. The node responds to this input according to standard error behavior.

Default: No error

datatype_icon

local port

The local connection port. Some servers allow connections to clients that use port numbers only within a specific range that is dependent on the server. If the value is 0, the operating system selects an unused port.

Default: 0

datatype_icon

connection ID

A network connection refnum that uniquely identifies the connection. Use this value to refer to this connection in subsequent node calls.

datatype_icon

error out

Error information. The node produces this output according to standard error behavior.

Where This Node Can Run:
