Pattern Generator (Triangle) (G Dataflow)

Version:

Generates a signal containing a triangle pattern.

amplitude

Amplitude of the pattern.

Default: 1

delay

Shifts the pattern in the time axis.

Default: 0

asymmetry

Asymmetric character of the pattern. This input is the projection of the line segment between the start and the peak divided by the width of the pattern.

Algorithm Definition

The following illustration shows the definition of asymmetry. D is the projection of B on AC.

$\text{asymmetry}=\frac{|AD|}{|AC|}$

Default: 0.5

width

Width of the pattern. This input must be greater than zero.

Default: 10

error in

Error conditions that occur before this node runs. The node responds to this input according to standard error behavior.

Default: No error

dt

Sampling interval. This input must be greater than zero. If this input is less than or equal to zero, this node sets the output pattern to an empty array and returns an error.

Default: 0.1

samples

Number of samples in the pattern. This input must be greater than or equal to 0. If this input is less than zero, the node sets the output pattern to an empty array and returns an error.

Default: 128

triangle pattern

Output triangle pattern.

error out

Error information. The node produces this output according to standard error behavior.

Algorithm for Generating the Triangle Pattern

If the sequence Y represents triangle pattern, this node generates the pattern according to the following equations:

${y}_{i}=\left\{\begin{array}{cc}\frac{a*{x}_{i}}{w*k}& 0\le {x}_{i}\le w*k\\ \frac{a*\left(w-{x}_{i}\right)}{w*\left(1-k\right)}& w*k<{x}_{i}

$\text{for}\text{\hspace{0.17em}}i=0,\text{\hspace{0.17em}}1,\text{\hspace{0.17em}}2,\text{\hspace{0.17em}}...,\text{\hspace{0.17em}}N-1,\text{\hspace{0.17em}}0\le k\le 1$

where

• w is the width
• k is the asymmetry
• a is the amplitude
• ${x}_{i}=\mathrm{\Delta }t*i-d$, where d is the delay
