# Beta Function (Incomplete Beta Function) (G Dataflow)

Version:

Evaluates the regularized incomplete beta function.

## x

The first argument of the beta function. x must be nonnegative.

Default: 0

## y

The second argument of the beta function. y must be nonnegative.

Default: 0

## a

The upper limit of the regularized incomplete beta integral. a is a real number between 0 and 1.

Default: 1

## error in

Error conditions that occur before this node runs. The node responds to this input according to standard error behavior.

Default: No error

## b(x, y, a)

The result of the regularized incomplete beta function for the given values of x, y, and a.

## error out

Error information. The node produces this output according to standard error behavior.

## Algorithm for Evaluating the Regularized Incomplete Beta Function

The following equation defines the regularized incomplete beta function.

${I}_{a}\left(x,y,a\right)=\frac{1}{\beta \left(x,y\right)}{\int }_{0}^{a}{t}^{x-1}{\left(1-t\right)}^{y-1}dt$

The following intervals for the input values define the function.

$a\in \left[0,1\right],\text{\hspace{0.17em}}x,y\in \left[0,\infty \right)$

For any real nonnegative value of upper limit $a\le 1$, the function is defined for all real nonnegative values of x and y.
