    Last Modified: January 9, 2017

    Determines whether any non-zero input elements exist. any is equivalent to not(all(not(.))).

    Syntax

    status = any(a)
    status = any(a, dim)

    Inputs

    a

    Scalar or array of any dimension.

    dim

    Dimension along which MathScript determines whether any input elements are non-zero. dim is a positive integer. For example, if a is a matrix and dim has the value one, the function works column-wise and returns a row vector containing one Boolean element for each column of a. If dim is not specified, the function uses the non-singleton dimension of a.

    Outputs

    status

    0 (False), if a contains no non-zero elements. 1 (True), if a contains non-zero elements. Status is a Boolean.

    A = [0, 4; 9, 6];
    STATUS = any(A)
