IviSwtch Initiate Scan [SCN] (G Dataflow)

Version:
    Last Modified: October 24, 2017

Initiates a scan using the scan list and triggers you configure with the IviSwtch Configure Scan List [SCN] and IviSwtch Configure Scan Trigger [SCN] nodes.

If the user has not set the value of any property in the IviSwtchScanner extension, this node applies the following default values:

    IviSwtch>>Scanning Configuration>>Scan List [SCN] - "" (Empty string)

    IviSwtch>>Scanning Configuration>>Trigger Input [SCN] - IVISWTCH_VAL_EXTERNAL

    IviSwtch>>Scanning Configuration>>Scan Advanced Output [SCN] - IVISWTCH_VAL_EXTERNAL

    IviSwtch>>Scanning Configuration>>Scan Delay [SCN] - 0

    instrument handle out

The instrument handle that you obtain from the IviSwtch Initialize Node. The handle identifies a particular instrument session.

    Default: None

    error out

    Error information.

The node produces this output according to standard error behavior.

    Standard Error Behavior

Many nodes provide an error in input and an error out output so that the node can respond to and communicate errors that occur while code is running. The value of error in specifies whether an error occurred before the node runs. Most nodes respond to values of error in in a standard, predictable way.

error in does not contain an error error in contains an error
If no error occurred before the node runs, the node begins execution normally.

If no error occurs while the node runs, it returns no error. If an error does occur while the node runs, it returns that error information as error out.

If an error occurred before the node runs, the node does not execute. Instead, it returns the error in value as error out.

    Extension Group

This node is part of the IviSwtchScanner [SCN] extension group.

    IVISWTCH_ERROR_EMPTY_SCAN_LIST

If there is no scan list, this node returns the error IVISWTCH_ERROR_EMPTY_SCAN_LIST (0xBFFA2004).

    IVISWTCH_ERROR_SCAN_IN_PROGRESS

Once you start the scanning operation, you cannot perform any other operation other than Get Property, Abort Scan, or Send Software Trigger. All other nodes return IVISWTCH_ERROR_SCAN_IN_PROGRESS (0xBFFA2006).

    Stopping Scan

To stop the scanning operation, call the Abort Scan Node.

    Interchangeability

This node performs interchangeability checking when the IviSwtch>>Inherent IVI Settings>>User Options>>Interchange Check property is set to TRUE. If the IviSwtch>>Inherent IVI Settings>>User Options>>Spy property is set to TRUE, you use the NI I/O Trace utility to view interchangeability warnings. You use the IviSwtch Get Next Interchange Warning Node to retrieve interchangeability warnings when the IviSwtch>>Inherent IVI Settings>>User Options>>Spy property is set to FALSE. For more information about interchangeability checking, refer to the help text for the IviSwtch>>Inherent IVI Settings>>User Options>>Interchange Check property.

    Where This Node Can Run:

    FPGA: Not supported

Web Server: Not supported in VIs that run in a web application
