int8

Version:
    Last Modified: December 12, 2016

    Converts the input elements to 8-bit signed integers.

    Syntax

    c = int8(a)

    Inputs

    a

    Scalar or array of any dimension of real numbers or of Booleans.

    Outputs

    c

    Elements of a as 8-bit signed integers. c is a scalar or an array of the same size as a. If a is a complex number, this function converts the real and imaginary parts of the number separately and then returns a complex number that consists of those parts.

    Special Cases

    If an element in a is greater than 2^7-1, the corresponding element in c is 2^7-1. If an element in a is less than -2^7, the corresponding element in c is -2^7.

    A = [34.333, 123456.4, -38]
    C = int8(A)
