The output signal of most common tachometer sensors is a distorted AC waveform which needs expensive custom signal conditioning hardware. Cal-Bay's Tachometer Signal Acquisition system (TAQ) features FPGA technology and embedded algorithms to measure the angular speed of rotating machinery when directly connected to tachometer sensors.

Unbalance is a very common source of high vibration that is identified by excessive levels of vibration amplitudes at a frequency that is synchronous with machine speed. This example program and tutorial shows how to use DAQ devices to measure the vibrations of rotating machinery and reduce the vibrations through balancing.

Trident conducts simultaneous real-time analysis for proportional octave band (1/1, 1/3, 1/6, 1/12 or 1/24), high resolution FFT and ISO 532B Loudness analysis on up to 20 input channels. In addition, the system offers simultaneous stream to disk time waveform recording of any or all input channels and the option to save the data to calibrated audio WAV format files.

Rainflow Cycle Counting software is based on ASTM E-1049 -standard practices for cycle counting in fatigue analysis. Original design and development was done for "real-time" cycle counting in naval ship wave impact analysis.

PESQ and Mean Opinion scores (MOS) are provided as outputs.

The NI Sound and Vibration Assistant offers the ability to continually interact with live data, varying analysis settings on the fly while logging data to disk for more analysis later. You can acquire data from NI DSA devices from NI and share it easily between other commonly used sound and vibration analysis applications including modal analysis software.
