Since joining NI in 1997 as an applications engineer, he has held several leadership positions including NI TestStand product marketing manager, software group manager, PXI product strategy manager, and director of product marketing for modular instruments, PXI, and instrument control. Under his leadership, the PXI platform has become a major growth driver for NI and one of the most successful test platforms in the history of the test industry. Starkloff has represented NI within several industry groups, including the PXI Systems Alliance and the Semiconductor Test Consortium, and is a board member for the Wireless Networking and Communications Group (WNCG) at the University of Texas at Austin and the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. He also founded the Automated Test Customer Advisory Board at NI, an exclusive group of top customers who work closely with NI to direct the company’s efforts in automated test. Starkloff is a respected figure in the test industry, has written numerous technical and business articles, and is a frequent speaker at conferences on technology trends in areas such as PCI Express, field-programmable gate array (FPGA) instrumentation, design-to-test integration, and wireless test. He currently publishes on his external blog, www.automatedtestblog.com, and in a quarterly point-of-view column for Electronic Design Magazine.
