As senior vice president of sales and marketing at National Instruments, Pete Zogas is responsible for maximizing the effectiveness of the company’s worldwide technical sales and marketing organizations. He has been instrumental in driving the company’s 33 years of growth in its 35-year history and helping establish the NI worldwide direct sales model, which now includes serving more than 35,000 companies.NI customers range from cutting-edge startups developing the next scientific breakthrough to global FORTUNE 500 firms conducting business in the Americas and emerging markets in Asia and Eastern Europe. In identifying and prioritizing the needs of this diverse group of customers, Zogas has helped lead the NI technical sales team to deliver the right level of service.
As part of his focus on customer success, Zogas led a major initiative to establish technical partners that share the company’s passion for virtual instrumentation, helping create the highly successful National Instruments Alliance Partner program, which now consists of more than 600 consultants, system integrators, developers, channel partners, and industry experts.
Zogas joined NI in 1985 and has held several positions within the company, including national sales manager, business development manager, regional sales manager, and sales engineer. He was promoted to his current position in 2002. Before coming to NI, Zogas was a design engineer for Texas Instruments and worked in the bipolar semiconductor sector at AT&T. He is a coholder of a multichip packaging patent issued in 1986 and received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where in 2008 he was inaugurated into the College of Engineering Alumni Circle of Distinction, the highest award bestowed on alumni.
Zogas is also active in various academic institutions and organizations. He is a member of the Engineering Advisory Board for Texas Christian University (TCU) and Lake Travis High School, and he serves as an executive sponsor of the U.S. Department of Energy’s EcoCAR Challenge. In addition, he has recently been invited to sit on the University of Oklahoma (OU) College of Engineering Board of Visitors.
With his many years of leadership experience in the high-tech industry, Zogas has shared his insights and business knowledge through speaking engagements and keynote presentations for organizations such as the Society of Automotive Engineers, the India Semiconductor Association, and Pepperdine University, and at key industry trade shows such as the Automotive Testing Expo.
