Eric Starkloff

Vice President, System Platforms Product Marketing

Eric Starkloff, vice president of product marketing for systems platforms at National Instruments, leads the product marketing of the company’s system-level products, including PXI, modular instruments, and NI CompactRIO. Starkloff also leads two of the company’s subsidiaries: AWR and Phase Matrix.

Since joining NI in 1997 as an applications engineer, Starkloff has held several leadership positions including NI TestStand product marketing manager, software group manager, PXI product strategy manager, and director of product marketing for modular instruments, PXI, and instrument control. Under his leadership, the PXI platform has become a major growth driver for NI and one of the most successful platforms in the history of the test industry.

Starkloff has represented NI within several industry groups, including the PXI Systems Alliance and the Semiconductor Test Consortium, and is a former board member for the Wireless Networking and Communications Group (WNCG) at The University of Texas at Austin. He currently serves on the advisory board for the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. He also founded the Automated Test Customer Advisory Board, an exclusive group of top customers who work closely with NI to direct the company’s efforts in automated test.

Starkloff is a respected figure in the industry, has written numerous technical and business articles, and is a frequent speaker at conferences on technology trends in areas such as graphical system design, field-programmable gate array (FPGA) instrumentation, design-to-test integration, and wireless test. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia.
