Stefano Concezzi

Vice President, Scientific Research and Lead User Program

As vice president of scientific research and lead user program, Stefano Concezzi is responsible for counseling lead users on the benefits of adopting the graphical system design approach for diagnostic, advanced control systems, test, and measurement. Concezzi manages lead user programs in the areas of wireless communications, signal intelligence, embedded RF, advanced controls, embedded systems, and robotics. Through establishing connections with those at the forefront of science and engineering, Concezzi expands the integration of graphical system design tools to enhance cutting-edge simulation, measurement, control, diagnostic, and test applications.

Prior to taking on this role, Concezzi served as director of the science and research application area, where he accelerated growth of NI product adoption through building strong, visible relationships with industry-related partners and influencers. Concezzi helped position NI as a global leader and primary supplier of measurement, diagnostic, and control technology.

Concezzi joined NI as an applications engineer in 1991, after serving as an officer in the Italian Navy for six years. He has held several international sales and marketing leadership roles at NI. Concezzi became the international marketing director in 2002. He led the development of global marketing programs and accelerated NI’s expansion in key European areas. In 2005, NI promoted Concezzi to international sales director. He reorganized Eastern European operations, accelerating growth in revenue and operation capabilities.

Throughout his tenure at NI, Concezzi has led many important initiatives. He played a key role in opening the NI Rome office and establishing branch offices in Brazil, Portugal, Romania, and Slovakia. To better establish NI as a solutions provider, Concezzi worked closely with regional sales teams in identifying industry needs and influencing NI’s product roadmaps. Concezzi is a 10-year recipient of NI’s prestigious “Circle of Excellence Award” for his contributions in revenue attainment.

He also regularly speaks at many prominent universities and government agencies including the University of Texas at Austin, the U.S. House Energy Commission, the offices of the Texas Senate and House of Representatives, the Italian House of Representatives, and the European Parliament in Brussels. He has presented on topics including the social benefit of public and private investment in scientific education and research; new technology trends in advanced control systems; multicore, FPGA, and GPU technology for control and test; low energy nuclear reactions; and plasma vertical stabilization. Concezzi is part of the Fusion Power Association and other technical associations.

Concezzi completed his graduate and postgraduate studies at La Sapienza, the Italian Naval Academy, and the University of Parma.
