As vice president of marketing, Ray Almgren champions NI’s mission to equip engineers and scientists with systems that accelerate productivity, innovation, and discovery. He leads the company’s evangelism efforts in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and the importance of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education.
Recognized as an industry thought leader in areas like the IIoT, STEM, and the Maker Movement, Almgren has spoken at events including SXSW and US News STEM Solutions in addition to numerous industry and academic conferences.
Since joining NI in 1987, Almgren has held positions across marketing and R&D that focus on growing the use and adoption of LabVIEW, the core of the NI design platform.
Almgren serves as chairman of the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) in Texas board and a member of the National FIRST Executive Advisory Board. He is a member of the Austin Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and engineering advisory boards including The University of Texas at Austin, Southern Methodist University, and Tufts University.
Almgren holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
