Alex DavernCFO, COO, and Executive Vice President
During his tenure, Davern has overseen key business functions within finance, manufacturing, and operations, all of which play a key role in driving company success. He has helped NI consistently invest in meeting the long-term needs of its customers and shareholders. Through the economic downturns in 2001 and 2009, NI continued to grow its R&D investment and quickly gained market share by releasing new products and outperforming its industry during this time. Davern also was instrumental in opening the company’s first overseas manufacturing facility in Hungary, which delivered millions of dollars in cost savings to NI and its customers. Davern led efforts to improve the efficiency of growing NI product and administrative operations in Europe by restructuring NI business processes, taking advantage of the opportunities made available by the new common market. He also guided the launch of the company’s worldwide Oracle ERP system, which today tracks hundreds of thousands of sales transactions each year and has dramatically improved the company’s customer service and market share. Throughout the industry, Davern is a recognized expert in corporate finance and executive leadership. He was chairman of the American Electronics Association (AeA) committee on the reform of Sarbanes-Oxley 404. He formerly served on the board of directors of Sigma Tel Inc. (NASDAQ) and is a former member of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Advisory Committee on Smaller Public Companies. Davern holds an undergraduate degree in business studies and a postgraduate diploma in professional accounting from University College Dublin. He is a former member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Irish Society of Chartered Accountants. Request a National Instruments employee to speak at your event. |
