Because NI is a leading technology company, the cornerstone of our community engagement program is to enhance science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education through classroom mentorship, student events, and collaborations with the goal of inspiring students to pursue careers in the technology field. K-12 STEM Education
Since the mid-1990s, NI has collaborated with Tufts University and the LEGO® Group to place intuitive graphical programming into the hands of K-12 students to develop and build LEGO MINDSTORMS® robotics. NI also partners with FIRST to offer a hands-on robotics competition in a sports-like environment for high school students. Through these and other collaborations, NI provides a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience to hundreds of thousands of K-12 students, encouraging critical thinking and teamwork. NI encourages employees to engage in areas of their passion and provides regular opportunities for them to learn and become involved with organizations through the donation of time, talent, and resources. Annually, more than $500,000 and 11,000 hours are donated by our employees. Through the annual LEGO® MINDSTORMS® NXT Mentorship Program, more than 150 MINDSTORMS mentors volunteer 8,300 hours of their time. Community Partner Impact
