ComponentWorks 3D Graph Control
The 3D Graph control offers a powerful way to visualize 3D data in any ActiveX container application. It comes bundled as part of the ComponentWorks Plus Pack, a free download for current users of the ComponentWorks Standard and Plus editions.
Interactive Visualization
The control allows you to plot a set of 3D data that you supply as a set of points, each one designated by X, Y, and Z coordinates. After plotting your dataset, you can interactively pan, zoom, and rotate your 3D surface graphs. Directional lighting, shading of 3D surfaces, and transparency are also supported. In addition, the 3DGraph control can display contour plots, projections to any plane, and wire-frame surfaces. All of these operations are easily accessible through interactive property pages and programmatic access.
OpenGL Advantages
To presents its graphics, ComponentWorks 3D Graph Control employs OpenGL, an industry standard for 3D graphics. In doing so, it offers a number of benefits. For instance, the software can utilize OpenGL-compatible video cards with 3D acceleration to speed up the interactive graphics display. (The software will automatically use a software driver if no 3D acceleration hardware is present.)
